Blast in South Waziristan Three FC personnel killed
WANA – An improvised explosives device (IED) blast in South Waziristan killed three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel on Sunday night, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
According to the details, the Improvised Explosive Device went off as the trio were on regular patrol on a motorbike in Toikhola village in South Waziristan tribal district.
The attack came as the chief of army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the district, the military said, confirming the soldiers had died.
After the blast, the area was sealed by security forces and a search operation was started to arrest the perpetrators. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
South Waziristan is one of the war-torn region where the clash between armed forces and militant groups erupts sporadically. FC personnel have been regularly targeted in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas in the past few months and particularly through IED’s.
Terror revisits Lahore: At least 16 killed in Mall Road bomb blast
LAHORE – At least 16 people including senior police officers have been killed while 73 other were injured after a strong explosion near Punjab Assembly on Sunday.
The bomb blast occurred at Chairing Cross, Mall Road, Lahore, killing DIG Traffic Capt (r) Ahmad Mubeen, SSP Mahmood Gondal and DSP Pervez Butt, police sources told Daily Pakistan.
The incident occurred as hundreds of chemists were protesting nearby against a new regulatory law, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said.

Many vehicles parked near the blast site caught fire, triggering panic and chaos in the area.
Heavy contingents of police and Rescue-1122 teams have reached the spot and shifting the injured – including policemen and media persons – to nearby hospitals. Firefighters are also busy in extinguishing the fire.
At Chairing Cross, medical store owners were staging a protest sit-in against the Drug Act introduced by the Punjab Government and hundreds of people were present there when the incident occurred.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah confirmed the blast, saying that police failed to maintain high-level security due to massive participation of people in the protest.
“It is premature to say anything about the nature of the blast and the exact number of injured people,” he added.
Jamaatur Ahrar, a faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed the responsibility of the terror attack in Lahore that took lives of around 16 people, and injured several others.
Last year, on Easter Sunday (March 27, 2016), at least 75 people were killed and over 340 injured in a suicide bombing that hit the main entrance of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, one of the largest parks in Lahore, Pakistan.
The attack targeted Christians who were celebrating Easter. Of the 75 dead, 14 were identified as Christians and the rest (61) as Muslims. The majority of victims were women and children.

Three including BDS official killed in Quetta blast
QUETTA – Three persons, including a bomb disposal squad (BDS) official, were killed while ten were wounded in an explosion near Quetta’s Saryab road on Monday night.
Reportedly, a security team was diffusing an improvised explosive device (IED) when the latter exploded.
The device was being diffused in Quetta hours after a suicide attack in Lahore that claimed 11 lives, and left 73 injured.
Three soldiers martyred as India resorts to unprovoked firing along LOC
RAWALPINDI – Indian forces on Monday resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control killing three Pakistani soldiers.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the firing took place in Bhimber sector near the boundary.
The Pakistani Army responded to the firing from across the border effectively, the ISPR said, adding there are reports of killing of Indian soldiers. The victims were identified as Naik Ghulam Rasool, Naik Imran Zafar and Sepoy Imam Baksh.

6 killed, several injured as blast rocks Mohmand Agency
MIRANSHAH – At least 6 people including four Levies personnel have been killed as a suicide bomber exploded himself in Mohmand Agency here on Wednesday.
According to the reports, two suicide bombers tried to barge into a residential colony in agency headquarters Ghallanai. However, their attempt was foiled as a bomber was gunned down by security personnel while the other one exploded himself at the gate.
Judges’ van targeted by suicide bomber in Peshawar; two killed
PESHAWAR – At least two people were reportedly killed and 18, including two women and civil judges injured after a bomb blast exploded targeting a van of judges near Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar on Wednesday.
Rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted injured persons to the nearby hospital. The police officials have also covered the area, besides launching a search and strike operation. It is the third blast reported today.
According to the police, it was a suicide bomb blast in which a terrorist struck targeting an official vehicle heading towards Judges Colony carrying the families of judges.
The injured included Civil Judge Asif Jadoon and three female judges who were traveling in the same van.
On the other hand, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has claimed the responsibility of the attack in Peshawar.
